A few shots from last week of Brianna's Quinceanera

I was asked by my sister to shoot my niece's Quinceanera. I said yes, of course. Ever since moving to Sacramento 10 years ago, I have missed the days when I could watch all my nieces and nephews play and grow before my eyes. Now a days it feels more like watching time lapse videos of my family. My siblings have grey hair now and my parents have many grandchildren that keep them busy.

Shooting this event was fun since there was no worrying about whether or not I would click with my client. I've known my niece since the day she was brought into this world and she's grown accustomed to me making a fool of myself. lol It did, however get me thinking about how time flashes by. It seemed like only yesterday I was in a tuxedo participating in a quinceanera myself. It's a funny experience dressing up in a tuxedo, riding around in a huge limo and feeling all grown up, at 15. It makes you feel big. Looking at my niece all grown up, but acting like a clown in her own right, makes me appreciate my two sons youth. She is at a crossroads where she wants to be treated like a young woman but she's still my sister and brother in laws little girl. I know they are proud, as I am, of the woman she is becoming.
